ACCT 8039: International Taxation – Special Topics

What do you want students learn in your classes? What is the expected outcome?
I want my students to have a foundation in international taxation and its practical application to their businesses and/or clients as they start or advance in their careers. For those that don't pursue a career involving international tax, I hope the awareness gained in this class is helpful to understanding the big picture of U.S. taxation.
Why did you start teaching?
I love international tax and was so excited by the opportunity to teach this in a graduate program, an opportunity that wasn't available when I got my masters in taxation.
What is the one book you think everyone should read?
Braving the Wilderness by Brene Brown.
Tell us something interesting about yourself that your students might not know.
I love music and probably devote 50% of my brain space to song lyrics. In 2000, I attended an Oasis concert (my favorite band at the time) and got a spontaneous offer to go backstage and meet the band! I met them again in 2006. It's my only real celebrity encounter, and if you've met me in person you've probably heard all about it!« Back to Faculty
